ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Eliza, a trauma-informed Spiritual Director, therapist in training, and aspiring good-enoughist. I love helping others deconstruct their beliefs while overcoming religious shame, church hurt, and spiritual trauma. As a trauma informed Spiritual Director, I'm deeply aware of how religious shame & trauma can affect our ability to draw close to God and keep us from becoming our best, most authentic self.
Because of this, I'm wildly passionate about creating sacred, healing spaces for self-discovery and soul searching. I take a deeply affirming, integrative approach; offering Spiritual Direction through a queer and neurodivergent lens and with underpinnings in somatic (body) awareness, integrative parts work (IFS), and therapeutic art. When I'm not in sessions, I can be found working toward becoming a licensed therapist, making messy art, or tending to my own soul.
MY SPIRITUAL VIEWS
As a queer Christian mystic, my own spiritual experience is expansive, curious, imaginative, and free. I do not limit God, my spiritual life, or my work as a spiritual director to a set of religious expectations. This opens everything up wide; allowing God to draw close and in deeply profound, beautiful ways: in dreams and intuitive knowings, in heavy sighs, holy tears, and the long pauses in between, in art and poetry, and in people all around. I honor the unique and individual ways that God is drawing close to others and consciously work to offer my clients the same things I offer myself: authenticity, empathy, non-judgment, and freedom to be.

POINTS OF VIEW
01
Imago Dei
I view every human being as a unique expression of God's love and creativity. I welcome all in this space, wherever you are, however you come. This means I will not attempt to stretch your canvas, color on your pages or change you in any way.
As a queer Person of Color, I see the world through the eyes of the marginalized & strive to hold inclusive spaces for all.
04
The Way is Through
I bless, honor and hold every part of the human experience as sacred. I will refrain from attempting to paint over difficult emotions or douse your doubts with glitter. Doing so invalidates the very real and present moment experience of grief, pain, suffering and longing.
Instead, I trust that the most sacred path toward healing & wholeness as KJ Ramsey puts it: "is through the wound."
02
Compassionate Companion
I offer trauma informed spiritual care through a person-centered approach. My role is to come alongside and embody authenticity, empathy and unconditional love; not judgement. In this space, every part of your story belongs and you are not alone in it. That's the simple gospel that I live by and where I believe true connection begins.
05
Art is Sacred
Art isn't about creating perfected beauty. It's about who we are & what happened to us. It's about how we breathe, what we think, & how we feel. In this way, art becomes a sacred conversation of the heart. Our deepest prayer.
This approach to art-making requires no talent or special skill; there are no numbers to paint here, no mistakes to be fixed. Instead, I offer creative ways for you to practice the art of being human; letting go of perfection and leaning into your enoughness.
